Art Doll - a touch of goth
Who is she? I couldn’t tell you really, maybe she isn't a she (but I will refer to her as a 'she/her'). I don’t even know her name (that’s for her to divulge when and to whom she wishes). But I can tell you that she seems to be to be made of power, confidence and determination. Her colours are bold. She is self assured and positive. I have a feeling she would be happy to take risks to achieve her dreams (they all come with risks). She’s definitely not afraid to be noticed. Maybe she will share some of her boldness and courage with you.
Construction & details
Handmade and unique - this OOAK art doll is 17" / 45cm tall
She has button jointed shoulders and hips, allowing for some movement. Some movement is also possible at her elbows and knees.
I often recycle fabric - especially some of the lush materials I used in my theatre days. So, the red base layer is a newy bought cotton and the rest - various gorgeous fabrics from costumes gone by! She's embellished with other fabrics, mesh, lace, beads, ribbon and a few pieces from my recycled jewellery box. Her hair is a silky, bamboo yarn.
I use paints, chalks, varnish (for a shiny boots look) and glue.
