Plays - scripts, info and downloads
Plays for Youth Theatre, Schools and silly adults!
I used to write, rather prolifically, for youth theatre and school productions - as well as several plays for adults. This is a selection of my plays and you can download a sample of the script to get a feel for them. Links to my online store allow you to download the full script if you feel an irresistible pull in that direction...
Each play page gives you an overview of the play, cast info, age range, and anything else I can muster to whet your appetite. They are mostly rather surreal/daft/absurd and tend to cover the topics of storytelling, dreams and creating/changing the future.
I will also include a few plays by my brother, Rob Hockley. Oddly enough, his plays are also rather surreal and funny - plus they involve some very witty wordplay. Take a peek!

Gorgeous Gerald and the Ghost was originally a part of a one act play called 'Perilous Tales' – a series of four cautionary tales linked together.
It's a bit dark, slightly twisted and somewhat amusing. It's also mostly in rhyme.
This tale is about the perils of vanity and the perils of greed and manipulation. Perilous stuff.
Two sisters. One has fairy wings - the other doesn't. The one who doesn't would really like to borrow them for a party. Sisterly love? No chance.
A short, slightly surreal, sketch for 2 teenagers. No fairy wings are actually required, but you might need a few other props! Production notes included.
