A stick, some flowers and a few green bits...
I like making new things. It's a challenge to devise and/or learn a way of creating something you've never made before. I have made a few flowers in the past, but I think these are going to be far more delicate and magical.
So, my sister thought she might like a string of felted flowers to hang in her camper van. I don't blame her, I would too. Yesterday I started experimenting with leaves, petals and, eventually, this flower. I like the way it's turning out...
Then I thought, how about if I find a good stick with a bit of shape from the hedge behind me, dry it, strip the bark and wax it. It might make a rather beautiful basis for a 'string' of flowers and leaves. I'll see how it all turns out.
As you can see, my past flowers are rather large and dramatic. The camper van flowers will be a bit boho and mystical. I hope. Maybe a flower fairy next?
