Autumn

Really enjoying the colours of Autumn woman - just as I enjoy Autumn! There's a warmth and a vibrancy to these oranges and browns. Cosy, but somehow energised as well. It reminds me a bit of a nourishing pumpkin soup... Summer is definitely on the way out if I'm even considering a nourishing soup!

Sometimes, when working on a project, I fall a little bit in love with what emerges. In this case her soft gaze and beautiful colours have amazed me and I can't stop smiling at her. Which sounds pretty daft - as I'm sitting here creating her, but it's true. Faces are fiendishly difficult (second only to fingers), but I love how the character of the figure/doll/felted-person begins to show itself. It never ceases to surprise me how a face turns out. 

I think she may be closely aligned with a Red Squirrel. Those huge dark eyes and her slightly bushy hair (more photos will arrive when she's in the shop). Anyway, as well as making me think of orange things and Autumn, I think she's also fairly Bohemian. I guess we'll find out when I've finished dressing her in whatever she wants to be dressed in. I really don't know how she'll turn out, but I'm fairly certain of the colours.
