Art Doll - circus drama?

This rather dramatic OOAK art doll looks as if she should be riding a circus horse. It’s odd how these dolls gradually take shape - I had thought she would be sporting a full underskirt (not to mention overskirt), but it wasn’t to be. Rather risqué for such a genteel-looking girl. Feathers, frills, lace, trim and ribbon. This doll knows how to accessorise for maximum attention.

Construction & details

Handmade and unique - this OOAK art doll is 17" / 45cm tall

She has button jointed shoulders and hips, allowing for some movement. Some movement is also possible at her elbows and knees.

I often recycle fabric - especially some of the lush materials I used in my theatre days. So, the base layer is a newy bought cotton and the rest - variuous gorgeous fabrics and lace from costumes gone by!  She's embellished with other fabrics, mesh, beads, boa, ribbon, trim and a few pieces from my recycled jewellery box. Her hair is a chunky acrylic yarn.

I use paints, chalks, varnish (for a shiny shoes look) and glue.

For sale: £90.00
She is currently available on the UK site 'Crafter's Market'. If you're not in the UK, but interested, please drop me a message.
