Beaded and Beautiful Art Doll
Who is this art doll? Apart from being beaded and beautiful, she's pretty dynamic and very comfortable in her skin! I love the colours she wears, the glitz and style, the beads and the orange hair. She unapologetically shouts out 'I'm here'! Her spirited presence makes me beieve she can walk through her world (and maybe yours) bringing a little more joy and creativity to everything she touches. Definitely beaded and beautiful, but so much more than that.
Construction & details
Handmade and unique - this OOAK art doll is 17" / 45cm tall
She has button jointed shoulders and hips, allowing for some movement. Some movement is also possible at her elbows and knees.
I often recycle fabric - especially some of the lush materials I used in my theatre days. So, her 'skirt' is a recycled deep red silky taffeta and her body is cotton fabric, bought new. She's embellished with other silky fabrics, mesh, beads, ribbon and a few pieces from my recycled jewellery box. Her hair is a chunky, acrylic yarn.
I use paints, chalks, varnish (for a shiny boots look) and glue.
